This weekend, the Alpha Gam’s ventured out through the rain and mud into the redwoods of Occidental for sisterhood retreat! It was AMAZING and I had the best time ever. Although it took us a while to get there; due to missing the road to turn on, traveling up steep hills, and AGD’s directing traffic, we made it there safely. We were split into cabins of about 10 girls each. Although I missed out on bunking with my best friends, I had a chance to hangout with girls that I might not have shared a cabin with. We did some GREAT bonding experiences, trekked back and forth from cabin to cabin, and ate dinner. I learned a lot about my sisters this retreat and it was great to have an opportunity to hangout with everyone with no interruptions, worries about school, or cell phone service.

My favorite part you may be wondering? Well, Brooke and I are quite creepy, if you don’t know us, and we prepare for every sisterhood with supplies. Not only did we pack our sleeping bags, pillows, and toothbrushes, but we also brought along just a few fake frogs, lizards, snakes, and ninjas (because we are ninjas… duh.) We snuck around to each cabin leaving people surprises of snakes in their pillowcases, ninjas on windowsills, and frogs in bags. Two of my sisters found a lizard in a bag and ran out of their cabin screaming. They found out that it wasn’t moving and wasn’t real a little while later. Good times huh?

Alpha Gamma Delta means everything to me and sisterhoods are one of my favorite things we do in sorority. You get to talk to a lot of people and make new friendships by bonding over the shared experience of finding a frog in your sleeping bag. GREAT job Katie Spangler! You planned a wonderful sisterhood that I will remember for the rest of my life!
